During yesterday’s hurricane I decided to take the time to tackle a small book I’d been wanting to do something with: The Gist of Nietzsche. I spent the day beating and cleaning the transcribed text into legibility, as not only was the source a mess, but OCRing introduces many typographical problems.In the preface that I cobbled together you’ll learn why Mencken eventually disowned the book in private correspondences, but I still think it has value… though maybe not enough to put the slim volume into print by itself.
Instead, I’ve formatted it so it should be readable on most common eReader devices, and am offering it to Underworld Amusements customers as a “Thank you”.
