Ungern Sternberg is one of the coolest historical figures ever.
I agree, he’s one of those oddly overlooked historical figures who’d make for some very interesting reading. Granted his enemy would never give him that honor.
Having read the book that Mr. Palmer did, I am now much more hungry for information on Herr von Ungern-Sternberg. He was a no BS guy, brutal and very misanthropic. More or less a ‘Mans-Man’ in my not so humble opinion.

that book’s on the table by my bed and every morning this past week his gaze has been the first sight of the day… eerie. Interesting man of stolid principle.
Indeed, I found out about him and the book while looking at Jack Donovan’s Goodreads reading list. He cuts quite the intriguing figure, both in his beliefs and the way he ruled with an iron hand. A good face to wake up to, and oddly enough his book has been on my nightstand as well, along with Julius Evola and Oswald Spengler.
