Camouflage Fetishism 101:
Some of you folks who have been with me for a while now know of my love of WWII German camouflage* uniforms, especially Waffen SS Oak patterns. The history of Kraut-camo alone is somewhat interesting in and of itself.
About 2-3 years ago a cohort and I were speaking of our mutual love of SS camouflage, and how effective the stuff really is at breaking up silhouettes. He then sent me a link to this picture:
I nearly shit the bed to say the least, now lets have some more comparison shots of the Beringtes Eichenlaubmuster (Oak-B) camouflage (top) and modern Russian Federation Partizan (bottom).
Now to freak you out with even more WWII German camouflage smock grooviness dig this Vater-oh! The Russian smock even has the same foliage loops in the same gosh-darn places!
Camouflage loop placement on the front Kraut of the smock…
and below loop placement is nearly the same, but the loops are thicker (also dig that kitten’s identity being zapped out), how far out is that?
Also, nice combination of Federation of Russia Partizan sniper smock and Flora (the trousers).
Chances are he is part of Vnutrenniye Voiska Ministerstva VnutrennikhDel (Interior Troops).
So there you have yet another camouflage offspring of Professor Otto Schick’s brainchild.
*I’ve always had a camouflage fetish since I was a wee lil young’un and laid my peepers and dirty booger-hooks on my uncles ‘Tiger-Stripe’ camouflage he brought back from Nam.
