A Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausf.D changing out the KG 64/660/510 Mittelstollen (ice sprags). Something that is little known, the Panther Ausf.D was the first tank in history to have an automatic fire-extinguisher. The extinguisher worked like this; if the temperature exceeded 160c a special mixture of carbon-chlorine-bromide was sprayed. These were installed near the carburetor, fuel-pump and starter. The bottles that contained the CB mixture were mounted on the outside firewall (crew compartment side).
PS. Sorry for ranting on your post M8!-Fallschirmjager.
