blanksandbobbypins:

A.) Be prepared for picture spamming of the event this weekend.

B.) I think I’m crazy, only some one not right in the mind would say ‘fuck modern equipment, lets live in the rain and run in the woods in 20 degree weather’

C.) This event was SO FUCKING AWESOME!!! I miss every one so badly.

So the picture above are the living conditions for the event. I rained most of the entire event, and it was cold rain the chilled you to the bone. I got to the site around noonish with a buddy of mines and we were put straight to work. I had to take care of the Lady bunker were I would of been staying. So I de’flooded it to the best of my ability and did so roof patching with mud. At that point I realized I was going to be wet and muddy the entire event. At around 6 we had formation to explain what was going on and how we had another formation at 8 where we would move out into night fighting.

The first part the night fighting went well, we captured one of the IR 134th guys. But after that things fell apart, there wasn’t a well command structure at night so most of us got lost. I ended up running into the German trenches twice like a lost idiot. I finally managed to get back to our trenches only to have a surprise attack on us by the Germans. It was pretty awesome, sliding into the muddy trenches trying to defend them. Turned out our Kapitain and scout leader took most of our surprise attackers down!

After that I went to the Polish tent and partied with them till 3ish. It was a good unit bonding moment with the two guys that do Pole, My friend Chris Handsford (walkingoutgermania here on tumblr), this kid that usually does German, and our Starshina. It was pouring rain and no amount of vodka could stop be from shivering so I pussied out and slept in the car. (Turned out most every one did since all the flood repair turned out to be for null.)

The morning was another clusterfuck moment with the formation time being pushed back and ect. We had a memorial service for a unit member that passed away at the last event and after that we formed up to battle.

All I can say that I’m so proud of my unit. This was one of best events we done tactically. Sadly I only got to use my sniper skill at one battle, but it was worth it. (all my plans for the event was kind of ruined due to the rain. But next event) But the first 3 battles we actually did Urrah charges, which usually only happened in the beginning and the end of the war. Even though most people think Urrah charges are just rushing at them, the getting a whole unit quietly TILL you Urrah the hard part and also WHERE you Urrah!

After that we had to defend our trenches and this is where I excelled at. We have a polish unit with our unit that has a mortar. Knowing that once the Germans saw the mortar they were going to try and take it out. So Pretty much set up a cozy position behind them (and the trenches) and waited. Ended up shooting two NCOs, and one of my good friends. I have to say my friend face was priceless when he saw me. Granted I had to softly whistle at him to see it was be shooting him, but it was great to see his eyes widen and mouth ‘SHIT’ as I shot him. Sadly the SS guys decided to some up from behind me. I was hoping that I could wait till they passed me to take them out, but no, they decided to head straight  for the area I was using for cover. I ended up taking 3 out before dying.

after that we had a battle at the cross road in which I have to say my Polish friends kicked ass with! Knocking most of them out with the mortar they were able to defend themselves with one SVT. (the same SVT I shot live) In the end, Germans and Russians agreed the fighting was top notch!!!

After that we took in the Lugoff tradition of going to a country club in kit and drinking. My Kapitain loaned me soviet NKVD soviet dress to wear. Sadly I had stocking to go, but they were drenched. Either way now I really want the dress so I can put all my sniper stuff on it, and swap out the NKVD shoulder boards with infantry. Also I learned that I need an extra platsch to waterproof things. After the country club, the people still left rented out hotel rooms at this sketchy hotel nearish by and had a hotel party. High light of that part of the event was getting a piggy back ride from a friend in his German Kit, while I’m in the NKVD dress scream “ON WARD MY TRUSTY STEAD” as a the people in a drug deal watched.

I was an awesome event, and UGG! Just awesome! Already miss it! I swear the people in my unit are like family at this point. Can’t wait till the next event! :))))

When I die, bury my worthless Kraut ass here…
