Stug III…..look at the drive train.
Is it me, or is that Drive Sprocket all nilly-willy? Something’s up with that starboard side track. Also, as stated above, 6 road wheels= Panzer III chassis, 8 road wheels = Panzer IV chassis. Also this photo is kind of neat as it shows field applied concrete armor over the driver’s compartment. This was done at roughly 7-8” for every inch thick armor plating. Believe it or not some of the Shermans were done up like this. It was popular with Patton’s 3rd, but ‘Ole Blood’n Guts’ detested it as he felt it was a morale problem and showed the men’s dissatisfaction with their equipment.
