A Panzerbeobachtungswagen IV Ausf.J knocked out by a few shots to the rear plate on the Aussteilungsstraße in the Prater district of Vienna 1945.
The rotating StuG. cupola is laying in the foreground havig been blown off the turret roof. The vehicle is a late production with extended sides as towing eyes, no gunner’s vision port & wire mesh skirts. What appears to be the barrel of the coaxial MG34 is actually a dummy, as space or extra radio sets was needed. On the rear plate, just under the barrel is the armored mount for a Sternantenne.
