I created this blog as an extension of my old blog ( http://fallschirmjager.tumblr.com ). I am always slow about catching up with new things and especially with our modern military. But a few events that touched me in my personal life changed all of that: a member of my old reenacting unit who was a Navy SEAL died when a Taliban RPG hit the helicopter he was in. A good pal of mine decided to become a PMC (Private Military Contractor). Another good pal of mine lost his left leg due to an IED. Another facet which drew more intrigue into modern military history was my joining the hobby of MilSim (the more expensive and insane side of Airsoft) as well as having watched ‘Lone Survivor’ and ‘American Survivor.’ So there you have it.
