While I am not normally a fan of colorized pics from WWII, I found this shot of Heinz Gudarian quite interesting.
Plate01: Generaloberst Guderian (in the black panzer uniform) with Generalleutnant (later General der Panzertruppe) Walter Wenck. The latter is wearing the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross awarded him on 28 December 1942.
Plate02: A Panzergrenadier laden Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G (Sd.Kfz.161/2) belonging to Heinz Guderian’s old name sake 2.Panzerarmee (Panzergruppe Guderian)/3.Panzer-Division. Of note here is the turret with the addition of schürzen spaced armor which has a coating Zimmerit, but lacks the skirts for the hull armor, the brackets for the schürzen are barely discernible due to all the equipment aboard the tank’s fenders.
