Let the Blackbirds kiss Me
My Rhine Atrocity
Oh, let the Blackbirds kiss Me
My carcass beauty
Time lost is never regained
Time lost is never the same
Of Pure Heart
Of Pure Hound
Too few, too many
Oh, let the Blackbirds kiss Me
Time lost is never regained
Time lost is never the same
Oh, let the Blackbirds kiss Me
Let the Blackbirds kiss Me
Oh, let the Blackbirds kiss Me
My Rhine Atrocity
Paratroopers in dress uniforms
Fallschirmjager:
Looks like an early/pre-war NCO training, I see a LOT of tresse on the collars, and of course look at the “Kompanie Mutti” all rakish and jaunty looking!
Previously wounded paratrooper
Fallschirmjager:
Ooooo Fallschirmäjger Stabsgefreiter with a cloth Fallschirmjägerabzeichen and Verwundetenabzeichen in Silver. Judging by the color of his tabs he must have been pulled from a Flak unit (this was done in 43 to help form the 6. Fallschirm. Regt.).
Interesting collection of medals
Fallschirmjager:
A Fallschirmjäger Gefreiter with an EK.2 ribbon, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen, Fallschirmjägerabzeichen and Verwundetenabzeichen in silver!
Pipe smoking MG crew
Fallschirmjager:
Fallschirmjägers smoking bakelite pipes and wearing a good mixture of uniforms (note the single button M43 Einheitfeldmutze!) and awards.
DKiG on a paratrooper, interesting
Fallschirmjäger Oberfeldwebel with an interesting array of awards, and something not often seen…shoulder-boards worn on his jump smock.
A German mountain soldier carries his StG 44 with him. 1944/1945.
The StG 44 was, in essence, the first assault rifle to see major action. The StG may have been a huge factor in the war had it been developed earlier. By the time it was deployed into actual combat operations, the tide of the war was already turning against the Axis.
Fallschirmjager:
I might add I find it hilarious that Adolf’s dumb-f**K a** turned down the propossal to produce this firearm, then went into a test run behind his back. The gun’s teething problems were ironed out in the field, and Hitler received telegraphs from officers espousing the rifle. Of course once he realized how effective it is he took credit and patted everybody on the back. Also the large crack on the butt of the laminated stock shows the quality that was telling of a country losing a war.

The look of love for each other in this photo just makes me smile.
Luftwaffe Field Division during training.
If you look close you will spot the early Heer jump badge on one of the men.
