Ahahaah I knew this would come up, just didn’t expect it so soon.
I am not saying the Waffen-SS, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine or Wehrmacht are boring or anything. I am saying that it’s a subject which has been around for a long while, and their popularity only boosts new books (usually rehashed from other sources) being made by historical hacks with a biased agenda.
When I think back to when Saving Pvt. Ryan came out, you couldn’t find a good definitive series of books on lesser known US units, let alone the average Kraut grunt.
When Band of Brothers came out, again all you could find was books on the American AB units, usually written by hacks (YES I MEAN STEPHEN AMBROSE!). I am not trying to diminish these men’s bravery or fighting record, I am stating that there is a lot more to war than just cool uniforms and elite status. Nurses and Doctors are barely recognized for their duties.
