Fallschirmjager:

Not that I am real believer that the President of the United States of America is anything other than a “straw boss”, but is this guy even serious? His reason (or lack of) for voting for Shit, or I mean Mitt Romney is that? Observing another culture’s customs out of respect? AND REALLY…ROMNEY…Mr. I Wear Special Undies and HATE WOMEN-Romney? The same guy whose religion states you MUST push the agenda of Mormonism (Moronism?), the same guy who is okay with violent sex offenders have the offspring of rape?
I normally try my best to stay away from political discourse on the internet, or in my personal life, but this dude takes the cake. I hope his prick falls off in the shower.

I apologize for the political bit

“Why, if there is anything in supply and demand, life is the cheapest thing in the world. There is only so much water, so much earth, so much air; but the life that is demanding to be born is limitless. Nature is a spendthrift. Look at the fish and their millions of eggs. For that matter, look at you and me. In our loins are the possibilities of millions of lives. Could we but find time and opportunity and utilize the last bit and every bit of the unborn life that is in us, we could become the fathers of nations and populate continents. Life? Bah! It has no value. Of cheap things it is the cheapest. Everywhere it goes begging. Nature spills it out with a lavish hand. Where there is room for one life, she sows a thousand lives, and it’s life eats life till the strongest and most piggish life is left.”

- Wolf Larsen-Jack London’s ‘The Sea Wolf’

biomedicalephemera:

Wax anatomical models of man and woman; half-skeleton, half-living, in fashionable Regency garments.

It’s unknown if these models were intended as a darkly comic “memento mori” sort of novelty, or a teaching aid, or both.

The skeletons are accurate enough to have been used to teach students how the articulations line up in the living body, so even as a novelty, they may have had an educational use.

Models located at Science Museum London, originally created ca. 1810-1830.

Former C.o.S. Priest Michael A. Aquino with C.o.S. member Sammy Davis Jr and C.o.S. founder and Magus Anton LaVey.

In 1973 Sammy Davis Jr. officially joined the Church of Satan after having met Mr. LaVey and Michael Aquino at various parties and functions. He later converted to Judaism which required him to leave the C.o.S. for good, although he stayed friends with Anton LaVey and various other members.

Thank you folks for following my occult blog, while activity has been slow at this point (do to my new job, and doing a lot of reading and research) I promise it will get better with time. I also want to say thank you folks who follow this blog, and I apologize for the posts which do not coincide with the traditional theme (Fallschirmjäger, Waffen-SS, Heer, WWII in general) and these will subside once I get more time to work on my other blog(s).

I am so glad I made the decision to make a tumblr, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with folks who have similar interests and some of you have an extensive working knowledge about my varied obsessions. On the whole I’m very grateful for all of you and you’re following me has been nothing but fun.

That is all, carry on!

You have an occult blog? Where is the link?

““Maybe I should go to a coffee house. I find no stimulation in watching ordinary people trying to put the make on other uninteresting people. I can fix my own cup of coffee and not have to look at or talk to other people. No matter where I go, I stimulate others, and have been doing so all my life. It used to be I’d sometimes get stimulated back.””

the-odditorium:

Two examples of conjoined twins, on the left is an example of Craniopagus parasiticus and on the right we have a rare example of dicephalus dipus and craniofacial duplication combined both found at the Mütter Museum.

The Mütter Museum located at the The College of Physicians of Philadelphia is the oldest private medical society in the United States, Founded in 1787. It contains specimens from the 19th Century among these are the tallest human skeleton on display in North America, a 9 foot colon, the Hrytl skull collection which displays 139 skulls collected from Western and Eastern Europe with their life stories written on the Parietal plate, 19th century wax anatomical models, examples of  Anthropodermic bibliopegy (books bound in human skin) and many many other medical specimens.

Absolutely superb.

I really wish to visit the Mutter someday. Medical anomalies are really quite beautiful.

Thanks for this!

Lon Chaney in London After Midnight
(ink&pen on velum paper)

This was commission work for a pal’s father who is a horror movie enthusiast.
I picked the subject matter as a tribute of sorts to the masterful use of make-up effects that Mr. Lon Chaney was known for. Tragedy struck in 1967 when the MGM film vault#7 had an electrical fire which destroyed the last known print of the iconic film London After Midnight, along with many other Silent Era films.
